Information technology has been one of the more lucrative job fields in the past few years, and especially so for some IT roles. In its “2018 IT Forecast,” TEKsystems surveyed organizations on their compensation plans for 12 of the most in-demand job roles, with IT security, software engineering and cloud applications development topping the list. With nearly half of IT leaders planning to increase staff, employers may find they need to increase wages more than they think. “Sometimes IT leaders are conservative when estimating salary in a survey, but end up ponying up more cash after going months without filling a position,” noted Jason Haymon, TEKsystems’ research manager. That said, here is what employers plan to do with certain salaries in 2018.
