College of William & Mary deploying TargetX Student Recruitment Manager cloud relationship management system to more efficiently connect with prospective students

The college selected the Student Recruitment Manager (SRM), a CRM tool developed specifically for college admissions by TargetX, a student-recruiting firm that serves higher education.

"The SRM will enhance our ability to communicate with prospects and make it possible to maintain an ongoing conversation," Tim Wolfe, senior associate dean of admission at the college, said in a statement. "We'll be able to build stronger connections between prospective students and the college."

The CRM tool will serve as the foundation for an integrated communications strategy the college is putting into place, said Betsy Dolan Quinzio, senior assistant dean of admission. "This will make it possible to keep track of all our communications, and to ensure that we are sending students only the most relevant communications," she said in a statement.

Among the features of SRM are built-in electronic communication tools, including email broadcasting and online chat tools. It is fully integrated with an event manager, which was especially attractive to William & Mary, according to Quinzio. "We already have an event tool, but it is labor intensive to move data in and out, and is not particularly robust," she said.
