The worldwide customer relationship management sector is set for healthy expansion over the next five years, with revenues projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 19.9 percent, reports Aberdeen Group Inc., a Boston-based analysis firm.

Market revenues will leap from $13.5 billion in 2001 to approximately $27.8 billion in 2005, Aberdeen projects. Segments set for expansion include sales force automation, marketing automation, customer service automation, field service management, help desk and partner relationship management. A projected upswing will follow this year's market contraction. It will be driven by strong return-on-investment projections and rapidly increasing CRM adoption in overseas sectors, Aberdeen states.
