BMC Software Inc. expects to report fourth-quarter fiscal year 2001 revenues of $412 million to $422 million. These estimates are above the upper range provided by the company in January. However, the software developer is also reducing its worker count by around six percent.

License revenues increased sequentially from the third quarter across all major geographies. Sequential license revenue growth was driven primarily by the company's distributed systems solutions. Diluted earnings per share, excluding special charges and amortization of goodwill and intangible assets, are expected to be in the range of $.23 to $.25. The company expects to report fiscal year 2001 revenues in the range of $1.49 billion to $1.50 billion. Diluted earnings per share for the fiscal year 2001, excluding special charges and gains and amortization of goodwill and intangible assets, are expected to be in the range of $.77 to $.79.
