BlueArc is rolling out the BlueArc Si7500, a network storage system capable of multi-gigabit (2000 Megabits/second) throughput. The Si7500 scales to thousands of concurrent user connections and 250 Terabytes (TB) of storage capacity behind a single server.

``Over the past several years server throughput has been surpassed by network throughput as businesses transition into the optical age, implementing Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel networks. To compensate, these businesses have had to increase the number of file servers on their networks, which has led to escalating costs and administrative difficulties,'' said Enrico Pesatori, president and chief executive officer of BlueArc.
