Salesforce.com continues to move into the enterprise customer relationship management sector. The company is forming a technology integration partnership with Informatica Corp., a developer of enterprise analytic software. The alliance allows Salesforce.com, a provider of online CRM services, to use Web services standards to link its CRM applications with its client's legacy applications and databases. By combining Informatica’s data integration platform with Salesforce.com’s online CRM applications, customers will be able to share information with suppliers and partners across the extended enterprise, Salesforce.com says. The consolidated data then can be used for analytics and strategic planning, it notes. Saleforce.com is also rolling out its Enterprise Edition product that is designed to enable Fortune 500 companies to more rapidly implement CRM systems and get a quicker return on investment ( The alliance follows Informatica's launch this month of its Informatica PowerCenter 5 data integration platform. The platform is designed to perform complex data mappings and aggregations more than five times faster than the platform's previous release.
