What is the role of genetic algorithms in data mining? What are the other perspectives in which we can see the use of genetic algorithms?

Chuck Kelley's Answer: I think the biggest use of genetic algorithms is the ability to perform a fitness function. Being able to do crossover operations and mutation operations via random selection would all you to see the changes in fitness from one population to the next. This allows for strong analysis. The problem with genetic algorithms is that there are many possibilities and you could get stuck in one area and never find the best solution.
