Gaithersburg, Md., March 11, 2000 – The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), an educational association in the data warehousing industry, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Wayne Eckerson as director of education and research. He will oversee TDWI's highly acclaimed education and training programs, broadening their focus while maintaining TDWI's reputation for quality and depth. In addition, Eckerson will direct and expand TDWI's research programs and member publications, including the FlashPoint, the Journal of Data Warehousing, annual surveys and in-depth reports.

"I am eager to help evangelize the role that business intelligence plays in key new markets, such as E-commerce, customer relationship management, value chain integration, personalization, and B2B marketplaces, among other things. It's a brave new world out there, and business intelligence professionals are going to play an important part in helping companies achieve their strategic visions for the future," Eckerson said.
