VMC U Delivers In-House and Custom Training

  • April 28 2006, 1:00am EDT

VMC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc., announced the launch of a dedicated training division, VMC University. The new company-wide program serves as the central point for all internal and external training needs in VMC's core service delivery areas of product development, enterprise consulting and services and customer contact services (CCS).

This multifunctional training organization develops and delivers in-house and custom-designed external training programs for a broad spectrum of customer engagements. Its initial focus will be on inbound and outbound call center business models and processes.

VMC University is built on the success of a training program originally designed for VMC's CCS business. Directed by Charlie Freda, the CCS Academy program trains management and delivery personnel on tools, systems, processes, best practices, quality content and methodologies for the business. The success and value of this program spurred the creation of the expanded, VCM U, which is developing relevant courses for each business unit in partnership with Human Resources, Information Systems, and other VMC departments to roll-out employee-essential training throughout the company.

VMC U's first phase of training programs spans learning areas such as end-user application training and management development. To enhance training courses, VMC U has also launched a new library resource to make materials, books, white papers and journals available on business, technical and performance subjects.

Additional programs are being planned and developed with the goal of expanding content, resources, and information to better serve global service teams and customers.
