Reno, Nev., Dec. 20, 1999 EuroDebit Systems, Inc. has introduced a new payment service that allows European Internet users to purchase products and services online using electronic debits and European credit cards.
According to the latest research there are more than 17 million people accessing the Internet in Europe. European Internet users are much like American Internet users except in the way they pay for good and services. Most Europeans do not possess credit cards and instead use their checking account, allowing vendors to debit from their personal checking accounts. Europeans that have credit cards are very reluctant to use them when making purchases online, and more than 75 percent of all sales in Europe are paid with cash or check. EuroDebit Systems, Inc. has developed a new e-commerce payment system that solves all of these payment problems.
EuroDebit is the first to have electronically adapted a widely used payment method that has been in place for several decades and is used extensively by the European consumer in their everyday lives. The inner workings of EuroDebit could be described as a debit entry system that combines the reliance of an established and comfortable method with utmost efforts of fraud prevention. With EuroDebit the European consumer can purchase products or services over the Internet using their checking accounts. Most importantly the customer does not need “plastic” of any kind.
