March 8, 2010 — Teradata Corporation today announced enhanced version of Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse 5600, the company’s platform for real-time intelligence and decision support.The Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse platform is built with the workload management capabilities of Teradata’s Active System Manager software, in order to meet operational service level goals consistently in a mixed workload environment. The new Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse platform is differentiated by 65 percent higher performance for the node, enabled by a combination of processor enhancements, expanded main memory, and a faster data storage subsystem with linearly scaled system performance. Teradata Enterprise Storage 6844 provides up to a 30 percent performance improvement in data throughput. The enhanced Teradata BYNET subsystem now delivers a two and one half times increase in individual linkage speed over the previous generation. The new set of Teradata backup, archive and restore products and services provides backup times nearly four times faster than previously. The boost in Teradata system performance uses 60 percent less energy as compared to the Teradata platform of three years ago, the company claims.The Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse is now generally available worldwide.
