Applix, Inc., a global provider of business intelligence (BI) and business performance management (BPM) software solutions, announced that Ultimus, a leading provider of complete business process management and workflow automation solutions, has joined the Applix Strategic Alliance Program. Applix's TM1 will enhance the Ultimus BPM (business process management) Suite with advanced analytics for the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
The Ultimus BPM Suite provides structure, organization and management to broken, disconnected and inefficient areas of the organization. By importing the business process data generated and collected by the Ultimus BPM Suite into TM1, companies can readily and quickly analyze all their business process data. The combination of TM1's analytics capabilities with the Ultimus BPM Suite means businesses now have complete visibility across all of their process levels, a key component to managing business performance.
Ultimus' customers will benefit from the partnership because TM1 provides the enhanced analytical and reporting capability for Ultimus process data. By extracting Ultimus process data (via Applix Turbo Integrator) into an Applix TM1 data cube and combining it with data from other key business systems, companies can perform advanced analysis and reporting. This provides Ultimus' customers with the ability to analyze process activity in conjunction with other key business data to make timely process improvement changes within the organization - for improved management of corporate performance.
The combined solution also means improved compliance with the new Sarbanes-Oxley-mandated requirements. With TM1, companies can perform the necessary financial consolidation and reporting requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, and the Ultimus BPM Suite provides for the required "auditable processes." With these compliance measures now being phased in by all publicly traded companies, this market represents a significant growth opportunity for both companies, to which their combined solution brings a distinct competitive advantage.
