StackSafe, Inc. announced the findings of its IT Ops Research Report: Change Management Maturity revealing that while many companies display some characteristics of change management maturity, most can still improve a great deal. Here are some of the findings.
Roughly a quarter of changes (24 percent) cause problems in production. Interaction between systems and insufficient preproduction testing lead the reasons why changes cause problems in production systems.
Half of all companies report having an automated change management process.
About one-fourth of all companies have already adopted ITIL for change management while a significant number of companies have adopted other standards. Almost half of all companies plan to adopt ITIL in the next two years.
