If companies want to keep and grow their data warehouses, they need to find the right business sponsor. Ideally, says new research from The Data Warehousing Institute, warehouse sponsors come from the executive suite. But in many cases, the sponsor (or sponsors) are business unit managers for which various pieces of the warehouse have been built. To keep a data warehouse program on track – and all involved parties focused on growing and refining the project – The Data Warehousing Institute says business managers should avoid these mistakes when conducting their sponsorship responsibilities:
