February 21, 2012 – Activity around Hadoop continues to ramp up as Teradata announced a partnership Tuesday with Yahoo!-backed startup Hortonworks to help enterprises build solutions and strategy for the big data framework.
Teradata said in a news release that its data warehousing and analytics solutions would be coupled with Hortonworks Data Platform and integrated services and support as part of the cooperative effort. In particular, the partnership would center on the speed of loading and refining multistructured data for analysis by analysts and end users. In a news release, Teradata cited the possibility of loading Web logs of raw consumer data generated daily from an enterprise’s website into Teradata's Aster Data offerings or Apache Hadoop for storage and analytic breakdowns.
