Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, and Evolutionary Technologies International (ETI), a provider of enterprise-wide data integration solutions, have signed a number of joint customers across the world, including TNT in the U.K., Centrelink in Australia, Levi Strauss in the U.S., C&A Modas in Brazil and Royal Bank of Canada.

As the volume of data mounts, large companies are forced to consolidate data from various operational systems across sites and divisions for a variety of purposes. These data warehouses may take the form of a single enterprise operational data store or a number of specific-purpose warehouses. They are used as the basis for building a variety of strategic applications ranging from regulatory compliance after a merger or acquisition to improving their ability to optimize their supply chain.

The Royal Bank Financial Group, Canada's largest banking institution with approximately $230 billion in assets, has been a user of the ETI Solution and Teradata products for nearly three years. "The combination is a win for all involved," says Art D'Silva, manager of enterprise information functions and strategies at Royal Bank. "At Royal Bank, we have many complex transformations and need to join data from multiple platforms before it even gets to our Teradata warehouse. The ETI Solution allows us to accomplish this task quickly and efficiently."

Key to the partnership’s momentum is the ETI Accelerator for SQL/Teradata. With the Accelerator for SQL/Teradata, ETI/Teradata customers can quickly generate the programs to move their data into the Teradata database and then in a matter of minutes generate even the most complex Teradata-specific SQL that allows them to use the power of the Teradata engine to perform all the transformations and restructuring of the data. As a result, customers are able to bring up their Teradata applications in record time without an expert SQL programmer.
