East Hanover, NJ, Nov. 30, 1999 – Teleran Technologies, a leading provider of solutions that manage information access in e-business applications, announced that iGuard has been named the "Pioneering Product of 1999" by The Data Warehouse Institute (TDWI). The award was presented November 18 at TDWI’s Fifth Annual Leadership Conference in Orlando, following a competition in which Teleran faced-off against six other finalists: Microsoft Corporation for SQL Server 7, SAP America, Ardent, Digital Archaeology Corp., Retek and Shell Services International, Inc.

TDWI sponsors the annual Pioneering Products award to recognize innovative solutions that are most likely to revolutionize the practice of data warehousing. During the competition, Teleran demonstrated how iGuard, uniquely extends the value of business applications in which users interact with relational databases. Last year, MicroStrategy, with whom Teleran recently announced a marketing partnership, won the pioneering product award for DSS Broadcaster.

iGuard employs a patented process to implement "access rules" that block, reschedule or highlight resource-intensive queries before they reach the database and negatively impact other users. iGuard helps IT ensure optimal application performance and deliver measurable business value by controlling users’ database interactions within prescribed guidelines. iGuard proactively blocks "problem queries," notifies users of acceptable methods of querying, increases the speed and accuracy of information analysis and reduces the cost of information delivery.
