Teksouth Corporation, a veteran provider of data warehouse and data transfer technologies, today announced the appointment of Maj. Gen. Larry W. Northington (Ret.) as vice president for Strategic Development.

Teksouth designs and performs system integration for large data warehouses and offers a suite of information analysis tools, providing decision makers with the insights they need to make timely, accurate business decisions.  Today's announcement reconfirms Teksouth's commitment to the Federal Government market (the company is on the GSA schedule), and marks an expanded effort to offer its proven technologies to privately held and publicly traded firms in other vertical markets, such as financial services and health care firms.

Northington brings more than 30 years of executive experience to Teksouth, having served in a wide range of high-level military management assignments, including: Director of Air Force Budget (Pentagon), Director, Air Force Manpower and Organization, and Deputy Director, Legislative Liaison.  Working from Teksouth's headquarters in Birmingham, he will lead the company's global commercial- and government-oriented initiatives to deliver scalable, high performance executive information system solutions responsive to the critical decision support needs inherent to the volatile, highly competitive global business environment of today.  Before joining Teksouth, Northington provided services in strategic planning, business development and market analysis to organizations such as Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Rolls-Royce North America, Intergraph and the State of Alabama.
