TDWI has announced the release of its latest Best Practices Research Report, "Best Practices in Operational BI: Converging Analytical and Operational Processes." The report, based on an early 2007 survey of corporate IT professionals who serve as mid-level managers in theU.S. and who work for large organizations, explains the potential of operational BI and offers guidance for surmounting the challenges involved in combining operational and analytical processes.

Operational business intelligence (BI) represents a turning point in the evolution of BI. Essentially, it moves BI to the forefront and weaves it into the fabric of the business, intertwining it with operational processes and applications that drive thousands of daily decisions.
