The most recent research from Survey.com suggests that Oracle Corp. is the leading provider to the business intelligence and data warehousing market. Survey.com, Campbell, Calif., recently surveyed about 600 CIOs and senior IT managers at large and medium-sized companies. The survey found that more than 50 percent were using Oracle software to power their data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives. "They are leveraging their infrastructure," says Nancy Stewart, program director for enterprise computing research at Survey.com. "They've made a big push beyond the data base and into the applications market."

According to the Survey.com research, Oracle may be the leading software contender, but the market is hardly without other players-especially IBM which recently spent about $1 billion to buy Informix's database business. A chief reason IBM made the deal was to gain marketing ground against Oracle. For more information, please visit survey.com.
