  • September 19 2006, 1:00am EDT

SPSS Inc., a leading worldwide provider of predictive analytics software, released a significantly upgraded version of its flagship statistical software package, SPSS 15.0. The analytical capabilities added to SPSS 15.0 will boost important predictive applications such as fraud detection and fast-track claims settlements, customer feedback management and call center management.

SPSS 15.0's release demonstrates the continued progression of the SPSS product line in addressing enterprise-level business problems and architectures. Of particular importance, SPSS 15.0 will open up SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services to the wider SPSS customer base. This will support the deployment of SPSS' statistical and predictive technologies in a true enterprise setting, leveraging a robust services-oriented architecture. To support enterprise usage scenarios, SPSS 15.0 will also more closely integrate SPSS statistical software with the company's data mining workbench.

The SPSS 15.0 upgrade covers statistical, visualization/reporting, data management and server-side enhancements.

" The new feature set in SPSS 15.0 will be extremely valuable to American Airlines," said King Douglas, senior analyst, American Airlines. "SPSS 15.0 will allow American Airlines to get mission-critical information for executives and managers in the most timely manner possible so they can make data-driven decisions. This is a valuable and important upgrade to an already excellent product."

"SPSS 15.0 represents an important release," said Dr. Howard Barkan , research methodologist and biostatistician, Kaiser-Permanente. "Existing customers will find great value in the new statistical and data management features; while enterprise-caliber organizations will be able to use the enhanced programmability and integration with SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services to run their organization."
