Software AG announced it will begin shipping webMethods 9.0, a major update to its webMethods product suite, in the second quarter of 2013. The latest release of webMethods focuses on integrating big data from any source, and provides increased support for mobile devices.

By providing these new features, webMethods 9.0 allows organizations to provide access to huge amounts of data and distribute the right information to the right user on any device, the company says.

Software AG says webMethods 9.0 is tightly integrated with Terracotta BigMemory, a leading in-memory technology for enterprise big data. Terracotta, which Software AG says has more than 1 million deployments and is used by more than 2 million developers, brings increased scalability to webMethods. The software enables local or distributed data caching, providing higher performance and fault tolerance.

The webMethods Mobile Suite in the latest release provides a high level of security and covers the entire lifecycle of enterprise mobile applications, Software AG says. Organizations can quickly build and distribute mobile applications, allowing only authorized users and devices on their networks and protecting against threats.

Employees, customers and trading partners can now interact with an enterprise’s IT systems from anywhere in a secure, distributed environment. Through a strategic partnership with metaquick, Software AG also provides a new mobile application and device administration platform.

The new software also provides integration with cloud-based applications and support for social media collaboration.
