A unique partnership between global retail merchandise software leader Soft Solutions and OmniNuri Systems will enable world class retailers to access powerful new tools for managing their merchandise at the store-shelf level. The companies announce that they have signed an agreement to offer electronic shelf labeling (ESL) solutions that will be completely integrated within Soft Solutions' Suite of merchandise and marketing applications. The companies have also entered a partnership to bring new capabilities in the management of merchandise, promotions and assortment through the integration of store and shelf-level RFID based on EPC global standards. World-class retailers will now have the ability to model and incorporate these technology innovations across their core business processes -- from corporate, through logistics, and to the stores.
The agreement also establishes a Store Lab at Soft Solutions' Product Development Center, which will be equipped with Soft Solutions' Application Suites and the ESL and RFID technologies from OmniNuri. The objective of the Store Lab(TM) is to create a typical store model that will enable the partners and visiting retail executives to evaluate how store operations, from receiving through point-of-sale, can be enhanced through the use of these technologies.
The two companies will provide powerful new opportunities for retailers to more efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of their merchandise and marketing processes, including assortment planning, space management and replenishment. The retailer can use RFID tags on a consumer's shopping cart to study in-store behavior and apply basket promotions for certain customers. Together with the powerful pricing and promotions capabilities of the Soft Solutions Suite, retailers can utilize the technology to implement price changes at the shelf level in a matter of seconds. The strong business process and workflow capabilities native to the Soft Solutions applications provide consistent execution of decisions across the organization. Additionally, its master data management (MDM) solution completes the necessary foundation. Leading retailer Carrefour Group recently launched a global MDM project to achieve data quality and synchronization for their move into new technologies such as RFID.
