The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital information industry, announced it has begun an annual program to recognize leaders in the global fight against software piracy. The new program will draw attention to those organizations and individuals that have shown leadership in fighting the scourge of software and content piracy.

The first annual Anti-Piracy Leadership Award is being given to Jay V. Prabhu, trial attorney, Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Prahbu gained national recognition for spearheading numerous successful criminal copyright infringement prosecutions against some of the country's most notorious software pirates.
