Many companies struggle with getting a data governance program right the first time. But what about reigniting a mature program? What is involved there?

That will be the subject of a best practices session at The MDM Summit in New York, Nov. 8-10, when Carole Wittemann, manager of data governance at TTX Company, will speak on “Reigniting a Mature Data Governance Program.”

TXX Company is North America’s leading provider of railcars and related freight car management services to the North American rail industry. TXX maintains a national pool of over 200,000 railcars.

In addition to their physical and financial assets, TXX has recognized the need to treat its information as an enterprise asset. This session will provide insights on the framework used to develop a data governance strategy and roadmap for the organization, including the importance of a business driven approach and metrics to sustain the program.

As manager of data governance for TXX, Wittemann’s responsibilities include active participation in key business intelligence initiatives, along with establishing and managing the enterprise data governance program.
