Seagate Software, the maker of Crystal Reports, announced that Tom Marcucella of Boston Properties is the winner of the “Are You a Hero?” reporting contest. The winning report, which enables Boston Properties to provide first-rate service to its customers, was created using Seagate Crystal Reports and Lotus Notes.
The “Are You a Hero?” contest challenged customers and business partners to create powerful reports against their Lotus Notes or Domino data with either Seagate Crystal Reports or Seagate Analysis. The winner received an all- expenses paid trip for two to Lotus DevCon in San Francisco in June 2000. Using Seagate Crystal Reports against Lotus Notes data, Marcucella solved a complex business problem by developing a concise and easy-to-use report that allows property managers to monitor the more than 70,000 tenant service requests received from 1,400 tenants and analyze trends for the buildings' specific needs.
Marcucella used Seagate Crystal Reports to solve the needs of diverse users at Boston Properties. With Crystal Reports, users are able to select database records based on his or her own individual preferences, while at the same time are provided with a variety of methods to display the data. Marcucella's application also includes on-demand subreports and makes excellent use of charts and drill-down/group trees, allowing users to quickly access the information they need.
