Cary, N.C., Aug 22, 2000 – SAS Institute, a market leader in integrated data warehousing, decision support and information delivery, announced the production availability of SAS/Warehouse Administrator software, Version 2.1.

Demonstrated at the Data Warehousing Institute conference in Boston, this new version makes it easier to build a data warehouse through a new collection of built-in transformation and data utilities that eliminate much of the previously required coding. With an open, component-based architecture, improved data access and management capabilities, thin-client interfaces and other enhancements, it is an important component of the new SAS software V8.1, and lays the foundation for new e-intelligence solutions from SAS.

``The need to keep up with the constant demands of the business community leaves little time for IT to undertake the complex task of building, supporting and maintaining a data warehouse. This solution simplifies the building of a data warehouse, allowing IT to effectively manage a diverse, multiplatform data warehouse environment in order to continuously respond to the needs of the business community,'' said Frank Nauta, SAS Institute's Warehouse Administrator product manager. ``This release fulfills the promise of a truly open infrastructure.''
