Indianapolis, Ind., April 10, 2000 – SAS Institute, a market leader in integrated data warehousing and decision support, announced it is bringing e- intelligence to business performance management. The SAS Solution for Balanced Scorecard provides software and services to monitor strategic internal and external processes related to corporate health. It gives employees the power to align their efforts with corporate goals through a common environment where they and their managers can share knowledge and act on it.

"Call it the 'watercooler for the new millennium,'" said John McIntyre, SAS Institute's vice president of e-business strategy. "For e-business to succeed at Internet speed, information on B2B and B2C relationships as well as on internal processes must be current, correct and flow freely between the boardroom and the cubicle. The SAS solution delivers actionable information to a broad set of constituents across the entire organization."

The SAS Solution for Balanced Scorecard offers a flexible technology framework to assess and surface strategic information on supplier and customer relationships, human resources, financial management, process quality and IT performance management. The solution in September will include software called Strategic VisionT for turning strategic objectives into metrics, automating the population of those metrics with data and routing the resulting measures to the appropriate internal audience.

In addition to partnering with management consultants, SAS supports its balanced scorecard solution through its internal consulting group. For more details on the SAS Solution for Balanced Scorecard, visit www.sas.com.
