SAS unveiled SAS 9.1 at the annual meeting of the SAS Users Group International (SUGI). This release of SAS software includes a suite of new and enhanced business intelligence (BI) client tools directly tailored to the needs of distinct types of users everywhere, from the shop floor to the executive suite.
New BI products that SAS unveiled include SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Report Studio and SAS Office Integration. These new tools, all part of the SAS Business Intelligence Server, expand access to SAS’ data manipulation, analytical and reporting capabilities, delivering insight that helps reduce costs and increase revenue.
Complementing the powerful SAS data integration and analytic capabilities, the Business Intelligence Server delivers reliable, high-quality content to growing numbers of organizational decision-makers. It allows users to quickly and efficiently access, analyze and share strategic data to help make informed decisions. The SAS 9.1 BI tool suite features targeted user interfaces that are “fit to task,” designed and tailored to the varying skill level and usage patterns of information consumers, domain experts, executives and technologists. This flexibility minimizes costs, complexity, and demand on IT staff and business analysts, while expanding access to the predictive power of analytics across the enterprise.
In fact, with the new self-service interfaces, SAS executives expect usage of SAS within customer sites to grow to 80 percent of employees, opening SAS’ deep, rich analytic information to a much wider spectrum of users.
