Sagent, a provider of business intelligence applications, is entering into an OEM relationship with Hyperion. Sagent will embed various components of its technology into Hyperion's business intelligence software.

Under the agreement, Sagent's Data Flow Server, data transformation capabilities and various elements of Sagent's user interface will be integrated into Hyperion's enterprise business intelligence applications. Hyperion may also resell certain Sagent products as a value-add to customers.

Sagent and Hyperion have agreed to share existing and future patent rights related to the Sagent technology used in the Hyperion business intelligence solution. The companies also said that the relationship is for Sagent's unique transformational technology rather than for Sagent's extract, transformation and load (ETL) technology.

Sagent Ben Barnes CEO says the company is also looking at other OEM relationships as the company looks to increase its sales through indirect channels.
