The trend of major business application software developers buying niche- oriented customer relationship management vendors continues. This time the buyer is The Sage Group which is acquiring Interact Commerce Corp. for $263 million. “The acquisition gives us a leading position in the strategically important CRM market,” says Sage CEO Paul Walker. Interact develops CRM tools for small and medium-sized businesses. Its software products include ACT! for small firms and SalesLogix for bigger companies.
