ReportingEngines, a division of Actuate Corporation and leading provider of embedded enterprise reporting toolsets for J2EE environments, announced a public beta of the Formula One e.Report Engine for WebLogic Workshop. The e.Report Engine for WebLogic Workshop beta is the first BEA WebLogic Workshop control focused exclusively on reporting.
This new WebLogic Workshop control is designed to enable developers utilizing BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1 to design, preview, compile and deploy simple to sophisticated reports without leaving the Workshop environment. Reports can include information from virtually any data source and can be created through a wizard-driven interface, which is designed to require little or no additional Java programming.
Developers with WebLogic Workshop 8.1 installed can immediately test a beta version of Formula One e.Report Engine for WebLogic Workshop by registering and downloading the file at http://www.reportingengines.com/info/workshopbeta.jsp. Developers who download the beta will receive a product manual and tutorial to aid in implementing reporting in a WebLogic Workshop environment.
e.Report Engine for WebLogic Workshop can reduce the time to develop and deploy reporting functionality in applications deployed on BEA WebLogic Server or BEA WebLogic Portal. Developers utilize a fully integrated WebLogic Workshop control that is designed to enable reports to be built in a wizard-driven, point-and-click manner from JDBC, BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic, XML data streams and in-memory Java objects.
Reports can be compiled, embedded in and deployed with the associated application directly to WebLogic Server or WebLogic Portal without adding an additional server process. Delivered as core functionality of the application, the reports can completely inherit the functionality of the existing BEA WebLogic Server or WebLogic Portal. In the end, reports can be delivered with less complexity because developers can use an integrated toolset that is designed to leverage their core BEA development platform.
