There's a new formation of computing resources in the air: the community cloud.

The NYSE Technologies division of NYSE Euronext, in collaboration with VMware and EMC, says it will launch the first "purpose-built" cloud for a specific type of user on July 1.

The Capital Markets Community Platform will provide trading, risk management and other services “on demand” from a cloud of data centers in different parts of the world. The community members: trading firms of all types, agency brokers, hedge funds, institutions, data suppliers and technology vendors.
