August 18, 2008 - PHASE 2 International announced the availability of the newest in its of software as a service (SaaS) offerings for companies: Team Foundation Server.

Designed to manage a source code repository for multideveloper projects built with Microsoft's Visual Studio, the new Hosted Team Foundation Server source code control tool makes managing code for those projects more efficient, whether development team members are across the hall or across the globe.

"Hosted Team Foundation Server grew out of a need we saw from within our existing client base - but that extends well beyond. It's just not unusual today to have developers in New York, San Francisco and Mumbai all working on the same project,” said Kevin Doherty, CEO of PHASE 2 International."To make it work, you need a reliable, centralized source control tool.Team Foundation Server provides source code control for Visual Studio projects; what's unique about our offering is that we host it, we manage it and we charge just for its use - whether there are just a few or numerous contributors -at a low per-user cost with no contracts and no strings.”

PHASE 2's offering of Hosted Team Foundation Server breaks down the barriers because, as with other PHASE 2 offerings, the company hosts and maintains application. There are no setup fees or up-front charges and no contract commitments for client companies or coders, according to PHASE 2.
