Libit Named CEO of Applied Semantics

Jordan Libit is the new chief executive officer of Applied Semantics Inc., a Los Angeles-based developer of information management software. Libit most recently was managing partner of Peninsula Strategy Partners, a consulting firm serving software companies. He also was senior vice president of business development and strategy for FileNET Corp., a Costa Mesa, California-based provider of enterprise commerce management applications.

Virtela Communications Appoints New President and CEO

In another personnel move, Virtela Communications Inc., a Denver-based global managed IP virtual private network, named Christopher Clark president and CEO. Clark also will serve on the Virtela board. Vab Goel, who served as Virtela's CEO since the company's inception in April 2000, will continue as board chairman.

Clark most recently was vice president of IP product management and product sales support at Sprint. He also has held international marketing management positions at Unisys Corp. and Schering Plough.

Mike Phel Becomes President and CEO of Dirig

Dirig Software Inc., a developer of enterprise application performance management tools, named Mike Pehl president and CEO. Pehl previously held executive positions at such firms as SAP America and Deloitte & Touche.
