DataLever and Metagenix form Strategic Alliance

Boulder, Colorado-based DataLever Corporation and Metagenix of Durham, North Carolina, announced a strategic alliance between the two companies. Metagenix will integrate MetaPure with DataLever's component-based data cleansing modules to provide a real-time business rules engine environment with extremely powerful data cleansing capabilities.

"DataLever's approach of a component-based data cleansing environment fits in well with our Web service-enabled real-time business rules engine," says Metagenix CEO Greg Leman. "I was extremely impressed with their technology. They provide an ease-of-use level that far exceeds traditional data cleansing approaches. Instead of the mainframe-oriented, batch file approach to name and address cleansing, they provide a modular architecture that integrates easily with our real-time business rules engine." Leman further explained that MetaPure will be able to call upon DataLever's capabilities to provide business rules that specify the cleansing and matching of name and address data.

"MetaPure's business rules engine is a natural fit with our data quality and data integration technology." said Ed Sugg, vice president of DataLever. "We think the MetaPure approach of true business rules processing in a real-time, Web services-based environment provides the next logical step in our component-based data cleansing architecture. The two systems used together form an unbeatable combination."

GT Software Will Market and Distribute MCM's JEvolution Product

Atlanta-based GT Software, a provider of data access and process solutions, announced it has formed a strategic partnership with Miami based MCM Software Solutions, Inc. MCM Software is a leading supplier of high-performance, easy-to-use Web development software. Specifically, GT Software will market and distribute MCM's JEvolution product throughout North American, EMEA and Asia. JEvolution will add to the GT Software portfolio of products that "unlock and access" legacy databases and applications. Under the terms of the agreement, MCM will continue to distribute JEvolution within Latin America.

JEvolution is a graphical interface tool that uses state-of-the-art technology with a "Wizard Approach" to allow a user, or group of users with little to no knowledge of components such as JAVA, XML, or HTML to rapidly develop robust Web Applications. The JEvolution architecture is based in the J2EE platform from Sun Microsystems, and transparently utilizes JAVA as the development language, and XML/XSL documents as the standard to exchange data and information. JEvolution allows for connection to databases such as: DB2/400, DB2 Universal, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, Informix and Progress SQL.

Philip V. Caltabiano, vice president of sales at GT Software said, "JEvolution by itself is a powerful way to access data and quickly and effectively extend applications to the web. JEvolution will be sold as a standalone product, however, coupled together with tcACCESS, (our mainframe based legacy database access product) GT Software will offer one of the most comprehensive solutions available to access any database across any platform. We are very excited about Jevolution and see it as a product that clearly fits into our "unlock, open and access" approach to data and applications."
