The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) – the nation's leading nonprofit, public-private partnership promoting cybersecurity and privacy education and awareness – has announced that this month is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

“National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online,” the NCSA explained. Co-founded and led by NCSA and the U. S. Department of Homeland Security, NCSAM is recognized annually in October.

“With increased digital connectivity, it is more critical than ever to practice good cybersecurity habits,” NCSA says. “October marks the onset of a new effort to help all digital citizens learn simple precautions to protect themselves and their personal information, along with sharing the responsibility of protecting others online.”
