The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG), the world's largest user knowledge base for Oracle applications users, announced its intent to form an alliance with the U.K. Oracle Users Group (UKOUG), the main organization for the Oracle community in the United Kingdom and Ireland, to enhance the services provided to both organizations' members.
The alliance will be a joint-services agreement that brings two of the most prominent organizations representing Oracle users closer together and allows both organizations to better serve their members. UKOUG members will have access to the latest information about Oracle applications on the OAUG Web site (www.oaug.org), including position papers and information about the latest Oracle applications. Increased access to the OAUG Web site will also boost the networking opportunities for members of both organizations and combine the negotiating strength of the OAUG and UKOUG when working directly with Oracle Corp.
"The agreement between UKOUG and OAUG will further strengthen the relationship between the two organizations and add the regional power of the UKOUG members to the overall Oracle community," said Ronan Miles, executive director of UKOUG. "On the local level, our members will benefit greatly from having increased access to application-specific benefits such as OAUG's listservers and the Connection Point conference paper database."
"Both OAUG and UKOUG have made communicating directly with Oracle on future software developments a high priority," said Arthur Hunt, president of OAUG. "The alliance will further establish both organizations as representatives of the world's Oracle community and give our memberships a larger, more representative voice on matters relating to the development of new Oracle products."
Leaders of both OAUG and UKOUG will be meeting at AppsWorld London 2003, June 23-26, to further discuss the alliance.
