There's a good chance that many of you are not familiar with the DAMA Presidents Council Liaison position. DAMA President Michael Brackett initiated the position when he appointed Rita Wheeler (Portland Chapter President) as the Presidents Council Liaison to the DAMA International Board in 2000. Rita rallied the chapter presidents and created better communications between the chapters and the DAMA International Board.

In 2001, Brackett appointed me (Phoenix Chapter President) to the position. I can assure you that rallying the presidents is no easy task. The diversity of the chapters and the frequent replacement of chapter officers keeps the challenge alive. The Presidents Council Liaison position itself, is also evolving fairly rapidly.
