Hortonworks, a contributor to and provider of enterprise Apache Hadoop, announced the general availability of the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) 2.0, the first commercial distribution built on the recent Hadoop 2 GA release from the Apache Software Foundation. HDP 2.0 delivers the YARN-based architecture of Hadoop 2, phase 2 of the Stinger Initiative and includes the very latest innovations from the broader Hadoop ecosystem in a single integrated and tested platform appropriate for mainstream enterprise use. 

Jaspersoft announced its business intelligence offering now supports Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR), including Jaspersoft’s popular hourly BI server option. Users can purchase Jaspersoft’s BI platform on an hourly basis with no user or data limits, no additional fees, and no minimums.

MicroStrategy Incorporated, a provider of enterprise software platforms, unveiled MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop, the company’s first desktop-based product for self-service data visualization. MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop is designed to enable business users to analyze and understand their data.

SAP AG announced the 3.0 release of SAP Mobile Platform and a cloud version powered by the SAP HANA platform for real-time enterprise performance. The latest versions are intended to provide productivity for developers via a comprehensive set of platform services, an open standards-based architecture and by embracing a “bring-your-own-tools” strategy through integration with third-party development tools.

SGI announced new product offerings aligned to the company vision for the future big data market. SGI introduced SGI InfiniteData Cluster, SGI ObjectStore and SGI LiveArc AE for SGI InfiniteStorage Gateway as part of the company’s portfolio of big data solutions. These new solutions bring high performance computing technology to the forefront of the economy, enabling business and government agencies to perform big data analytics with faster and greater insight, achieve the extreme capacity and scale needed for storage, and manage storage investments more cost effectively.

Stibo Systems, a provider of multidomain master data management solutions, has announced the immediate availability of STEP Trailblazer, the latest version of its MDM solution.  Stibo Systems' STEP Trailblazer includes a new componentized architecture, out-of-the-box features for matching, linking and identification, extensive customer information support and a new auto-classification component. 

SUSE announced the availability of the newest SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, based on SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 Service Pack 3. It offers the advantages of the newest SUSE Linux Enterprise, providing customers more scale-up and scale-out options to run workloads in mission-critical SAP software environments.
