Netezza Corporation announced the Netezza Data Virtualizer to simplify, accelerate and optimize the integration of data stored across multiple Netezza appliances. Powered by Composite Software, the Netezza Data Virtualizer creates an integrated view of data that is physically distributed across multiple Netezza appliances and delivers query results to reporting and analytic applications while Netezza appliances continue to manage their data. The company also announced Netezza Migrator product, which allows organizations to run software proprietary to Oracle databases on Netezza, and the Netezza Enterprise Data Factory. Netezza Migrator dramatically reduces the duration, cost and risk of IT projects necessary to switch from Oracle warehouses to TwinFin. The Enterprise Data Factory includes tools, best practices and design patterns that combine seamlessly with the development methodologies used by Netezza’s system integration partners. 

Nimsoft announced enhancements to the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring architecture that enable customers to better monitor and manage critical business applications across all types of infrastructure – from the data center to the cloud – including SaaS, hosted and virtualized environments. Quest Software, Inc. launched a beta program for Toad for Cloud Databases, a data access and management tool for nonrelational data stored in cloud databases, also known as NoSQL databases. Toad for Cloud Databases helps users unlock data stored in the cloud by using the familiar SQL language or Toad’s visual query and data access capabilities. Users can query and report on nonrelational data, migrate data in both cloud and relational databases from one to the other, and create queries that combine the two. Quest also announced a partnership with Cloudera to develop an Oracle connector for Apache Hadoop. Hadoop is an open-source software framework used to store and process complex, large-scale data: petabytes of information often distributed across thousands of servers. The Quest utility, code-named ‘Ora-Oop,’ will provide connectivity between Hadoop and Oracle through an interface that allows for bidirectional, scalable and functional data transfer between Oracle databases and Hadoop.

SAS announced SAS Enterprise GRC, an integrated platform for comprehensive and continuous monitoring of risk and compliance exposures. Integrating business strategy with risk and compliance for greater performance, SAS Enterprise GRC facilitates collaboration through a common framework and automates control management and monitoring for more transparency, consistency and efficiency. 

V.i. Laboratories, Inc. announced new SaaS-based intelligence reporting capabilities for small and midsized ISVs looking to collect and report information on the use and misuse of their products.
