Alteryx unveiled Project Edition, a free version of its namesake analytics solution. The new edition enables business analysts to integrate and cleanse data from disparate sources (e.g., Excel, text files, Hadoop, salesforce.com), build analytic workflows and deliver reports without extensive developer input. 

Datto released ALTO, its on- and off-site backup and disaster recovery solution for SMBs. Features include image-based backup, bare metal restore technology and hybrid virtualization. 

Dell unveiled the latest version of Dell Boomi AtomSphere. Its integration platform-as-a-service now includes API management capabilities, support for Integration Packs (which update all software products affected by an integration) and process libraries. 

dtSearch unveiled the latest version of its line of enterprise and developer text retrieval software solutions and document filters. Version 7.72 features integrated image and text support in HTML, XML/XSL, PDF PHP, ASP.NET and SharePoint; terabyte indexing; support for OneNote files; and increased language support, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean. 

EMC unveiled five releases at EMC World 2013. The latest version of EMC Isilon OneFS includes data dedupplication capabilities, aduit features and support for object-oriented storage and Hadoop HDFS 2.0. EMC Data Protection Suite streamlines the acquisition, implementation and use of EMC backup and archive offerings. EMC Syncplicity, a policy-driven hybrid cloud, enables customers to utilize private and public clouds based on their content’s varying security requirements. EMC Service Assurance Suite and Storage Resource Management Suite identify whether SLAs are being met and feature integration with EMC ViPR, its software-defined storage platform. 

KnowledgeTree released KnowledgeTree for Mobile, its iOS app. The solution provides real-time notifications, and enables sales teams to discover content and provide feedback to marketing about content effectiveness.

NuoDB announced the availability of NuoDB Starlings Release 1.1, its cloud data management system. Updates include 64-bit support for Windows Server, Windows 7 and 8, as well as Visual Studio 2012, LINQ and Entity Framework. The release also is compatible with Azure and features a .NET driver. 

SAP unveiled SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, the latest deployment option for its in-memory platform. The release features petabyte scalability and access to SAP HANA as database, SAP Business Suite, SAP NetWeaver BW and custom HANA applications. (For more on this story, click here.)

Talend unveiled the latest version of its integration platform, Talend v5.3. Talend v5.3 generates native Hadoop code, supports NoSQL framework (such as HCatalog, Hive, Oozie, Pig, Hbase and MongoDB) and offers graphic mapping capabilities.

Teradata unveiled Teradata Intelligent Memory, its in-memory technology for databases. Available for any Teradata workload-specific platforms running the Teradata Database, this solution offers a systems-level approach to multi-temperature data management and includes Teradata Virtual Storage, which constantly migrates data to the appropriate level of storage, be it SSD or HDD, to optimize performance.
