Aspen Technology Inc. unveiled a new release of its Aspen Plus software. From a completely redesigned user interface and workflow, the process industries software enables a wider range of process simulation, integration with its aspenONE Engineering products, and connectivity to provider training from an interface ribbon bar.
Edge Technologies Inc. made upgrades to the latest versions of two of its data visualization products. Data integration and visualization platform Edge AppBoard 2.2 includes added mobile support for Apple iOS and Android devices, a new user and role management interface, and pre-built and pre-configured stacks, boards, widgets and data sources. enPortal 5.0 features enhanced content provisioning, simplified administration, enhanced integration with AppBoard, and a revamped look and feel.
FirstRain launched its inaugural Enterprise Customer Intelligence System. The sales and marketing analytics offering features automatic delivery and analysis of customer data and content access in real-time, including from mobile and as-a-service CRM, all from a centrally curated enterprise intelligence system.
Genius Inside launched Genius Project Vision 7.0, its project and portfolio management software. The updated software includes increased interface collaboration features from a “single-page” wall, a new project creation wizard, drill-down for viewing resource allocation, and eased access to the setup, other modules and other databases.
IBM released new software for visibility, control and automation with managing and deploying cloud services. IBM’s SmartCloud Foundation offerings feature capabilities for installing, managing, configuring and automatic the creation of cloud services in private, public or hybrid environments, with services for provisioning, management and security of mobile environments, and storage performance.
Iron Mountain Inc. launched three new offerings for retrieving items archived and stored on magnetic tape. The services include: Tape Identification, a per-project legacy identifier service; Data Restoration, for identification and delivery of backup media outside of the IT system that originally created it; and Media Migration, a method of accessing data on tape, DVD or preferred media regardless of how it was initially stored.
Lancope Inc. released the next generation of its StealthWatch System. New capabilities in StealthWatch 6.2 include: new virtualized deployment options; integration with Cisco’s Identity Services Engine; enhanced mobile security; and the addition of URL data to the flow records.
KineticD announced the availability of KineticCloud Backup Suite for SMBs and partners. The online backup release includes specialized software for file-based continuous backup, agentless backup of multiple systems, hybrid cloud backup with an unlimited local value, and backup and restoration harnessing KineticD’s global deduplication technology.
SAS updated its SAS Enterprise Data Integration Server. Central to the latest release is support for the big data framework Hadoop, including with its “write once, run anywhere” functionality, as well as extensions to Hive, Pig, MapReduce and HDFS commands, augmentation of Hadoop security with SAS data provisions, and other data quality and federation features for Hadoop.
