Akamai introduced the two newest offerings in its growing platform that connects the public Internet and private networks: Terra Alta, a solution designed to ease the complexity of developing and deploying enterprise apps to the cloud, with customization to handle a growing mobile user base; and Aqua Mobile Accelerator, a service meant to more evenly match mobile Web experiences and app capabilities with desktops for enterprises and their end users. AMD launched a new Opteron 3200 Series processor designed for cloud servers. The platform is aimed at the power-efficient 1P Web hosting/Web server market, and is available in either 4- or 8-core CPUs. It is shipping in platforms from MSI, Tyan, Fujitsu and Dell. Cloudwords Inc. released a new solution to manage translation processes within a Salesforce.com user base. Cloudwords Translation Management Automation features automated translation processes for Knowledge articles, management of each step of the process, connections to translation vendors for project bids, all specifically designed within a Salesforce user base.
Exact released its solution for dealing with cross-divisional related master data, Central Master Data Management. Exact CMDM includes multiple entity management as well as control over divisional risks and results, compliance on company standards, workflow management, and blueprints for business processes.
Flow Corporation launched Flow Platform, a cloud-based Platform as a Service. The new PaaS features development of real-time applications, stream processing, data routing and information interoperability between mobile, Web and enterprise applications.
HP launched and updated software under its Application Transformation solutions portfolio. New are: HP Enterprise Collaboration, a social environment for real-time, context-connected discussions over application development; and HP Anywhere, a mobile platform for IT management. Furthering that collaboration agenda, HP’s Application Lifecycle Intelligence now has real-time visibility and tracking for application activities. (For a full story on the release, click here.)
IBM today released a line of Smarter Analytic Signature Solutions. The Anti-Fraud, Waste and Abuse solution embeds advance algorithms into business processes to detect fraud in real time. The CFO Performance Insight solution is meant to address a boom in financial information, which IBM says is growing at 70 percent per year. The solution cross references analyst and board reports, market data, news and finance documents with predictive metrics for key performance indicators. Finally, the Next Best Action solution matches enterprise records of customer histories with interactions, sentiment analysis and click stream data to determine effective offers for new and returning customers. Kapow Software introduced Katalyst Apex Generator, the latest enhancement to its Kapow Katalyst software. The new aspect of the software enables deployment of Katalyst-built integrated processes into a Salesforce.com environment to funnel line-of-business data into a single source.
Microsoft announced that Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and Dynamics GP 2013 will be offered on its Azure cloud platform by the end of this year and stated that its next major release of the ERP portfolio will “evolve as an enterprise cloud service offering.” Also by the fourth quarter of 2012, Microsoft will deliver an updated version of Dynamics AX 2012 R2 with added “Web storefront” retail capabilities and in-context BI based on Microsoft SQL Server. For its Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 independent software vendor ecosystem, Microsoft will also offer specialized capabilities for industries such as manufacturing and retail hosted in its Azure environment. OnApp released a new storage platform for service providers and enterprises. OnApp Storage is a distributed block storage platform that enables construction of SANs based on SATA and SSD drives in hypervisor servers, all with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Perceptive Software unveiled Interact for Microsoft Dynamics AX. The solution, built on the AX 2012 platform with Perceptive’s “content in context” approach, includes integrated document capturing and retrieval capabilities to make information instantly accessible within any AX list page or detail screen.
Salient Management Company released Collaborative Intelligence Suite V5.0, its information collaboration suite based on Salient visual data mining. New or enhanced in the update include documented analytics for the transfer of BMP between users, and synchronized drilling without changing context for multiple analytic views.
ServiceMesh released Agility Platform version 7.4, the new version of its solution for the lifecycle management of cloud applications. New product capabilities include the elimination of manually configured DNS, advanced guest personalization, VMware vCloud Director support, and an extended user permission model.
SumTotal Systems Inc. put out the latest edition of its human capital management platform. Strategic Human Capital Management updates include: expansion of SumTotal’s Integrated Talent Solution to include Workforce Management, Core HR and Payroll processes; a comprehensive talent profile; differentiated and integrated HCM processes; and mobile integration.
VMware Inc. updated its open source Java development framework, Spring Framework. Spring 3.1 includes support across its security, batch, data, mobile and Android offerings, with eased developer integration and deployment.
