IDS Scheer, a leading provider of solutions for business process excellence, announced a new simulation component that adds quantitative process analysis to Web-based modeling using extensive simulation functionalities. The new ARIS Business Simulator provides a detailed analysis of both existing and planned structural and procedural processes for organizations. Leveraging technology from the Lanner Group, the leading simulation software provider, the Java-based solution is fully integrated into ARIS Business Architect 7.02.

The new ARIS Business Simulator utilizes the client/server architecture of the ARIS Platform which allows users to simulate complex business processes with data that resides in the central ARIS Repository. Users can realistically simulate process hierarchies and interlinked business processes while addressing organizational structures and other resources involved in the process. With the animation mode resident in the model, process analysis is transparent and the simulated process flow can be visibly tracked. In order to generate results, numerous statistics and charts are available, which also enable monitoring of throughput and waiting times at specific steps in the process.
