Preempt, which makes behavioral firewalls to protect companies from online malicious attacks, has released Any App, a secure authentication tool that can be applied to any enterprise application — from the general ledger, to invoicing, to payroll — without any special integrations or manual coding.

On installation, Any App first tries to verify a user’s identity when they first log in to the application. Based on company policy, Any App may or may not trigger the organization’s multi-factor authentication policy to challenge the user, depending on whether the software detects strange behavior (for instance, if the user is logging in from an unknown location). Once identity is verified, the user is granted access. Organizations can place consistent controls on all applications in their network that are connected to Any App, whether on premise or in the cloud.

“While adding MFA to web applications is relatively simple, many [security teams] have found that protecting on-premises applications is more complex,” said Ajit Sancheti, co-founder and CEO of Preempt, in a statement. “Integrating secure authentication into each application requires significant resources, which typically leads to the majority of internal applications not being protected by MFA, or a very fractured approach at best. Preempt removes the need for application customization, and turns the task of adding MFA support to applications into a simple matter of defining policy, which saves both time and money, while also protecting the organization from security breaches.”

BloombergAny App can be purchased as a standalone product or as part of the complete solution. Pricing is based on a combination of number of users and servers. For more information, click here.
