Saba, which provides applications such as training, talent management, enterprise social networking and real-time collaboration through its Saba People Cloud offering, says pediatric healthcare system Nemours is using its applications to accelerate enterprise-wide learning and compliance with its Epic electronic medical record system.

Using Saba’s Learning Management System (LMS), Nemours is providing its employees with access to the training needed to maintain high performance and safety.

Nemours’ Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system is used by more than 3,600 employees on a daily basis, and compliance requires that each employee complete training in the system annually. Using Saba’s Web-based training, Nemours can meet rising demand by its employees for more flexible training programs.

Saba Learning Management supports the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) content standard, which gives Nemours access to off-the-shelf content as well as internally developed training. As a result, Nemours has been able to build a library of more than 1,500 courses to create knowledge-sharing among its employees.

“The Epic EMR solution is at the heart of everything we do here, and no one receives access without proper training,” Heather Kelley, supervisor, instructional designers at Nemours, said in a statement. “Saba’s People Cloud Applications have helped us accelerate the adoption of EMR by providing role-based training to learners, and achieve the highest level of healthcare compliance, which is critical to success in our industry.”
