Naymz.com (Naymz) announced the launch of an online service providing reputation and identity management and promotion services for people, groups and businesses. Naymz provides quick and easy-to-use management tools to identify and aggregate all online content created by or about an individual.
The rise in popularity of sites like MySpace, FaceBook and Blogs has not only yielded more opportunities for people to network personally and professionally, it has resulted in the more serious issue of individuals having multiple personas and profiles out on the internet. As such, the need to proactively manage one's own online identity has become imperative. Naymz offers an easy way to do so.
Naymz co-founders make the analogy that a user's Naymz Profile Page is akin to "the table of contents to your online identity." Further, a Naymz profile also can include personal photos, a contact form, and professional or personal background information.
In addition to offering a free profile page, Naymz will optimize and submit each profile to the major search engines for optimal placement and visibility, increasing the odds that people searches result in accessing a profile page, rather than out of date or even inaccurate Web content. Subscribers also have the ability to customize the message that will appear within the search engine result. For individuals who have more common or popular names, Naymz also offers a premium service that will guarantee top placement for that person's name on Google, Yahoo!, MSN and other search engines through the use of sponsored results.
The Naymz launch comes at a time when there have been increasing amounts of reports about job seekers not getting hired due to information that has been found online through the use of search engines. In a recent survey conducted by ExecuNet, an executive job search and recruiting network, seventy-seven percent of recruiters said they use search engines to learn more about prospective employees. More often than not, information found for one's name is outdated, inaccurate, or embarrassing. Naymz allows individual to have a voice in search engine results for their name and to declare what information is or is not factual about them.
Once someone completes a personalized profile, Naymz offers tools to help monitor search engine results as well as profile Web traffic and activity. Through the use of Google Maps, Naymz premium subscribers can review who's viewed their profile, when they viewed it, where they viewed it from and how they found it.
