March 27, 2008 - Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. selected WebFOCUS to help the company standardize on a single operational reporting tool and improve its data reach.

Nationwide, a financial services company, had disparate reporting tools and databases that caused business users to lose time searching for the right information. The company needed to centralize its infrastructure, while maintaining a federated reporting model, which would empower business users with real-time information and customized reports.

"We wanted to present information, such as yesterday's sales results, in a timely manner to our business users so they could analyze it and respond accordingly. That was our motivation to consolidate our operational reporting,” said P. Bhasker, CTO of Nationwide Financial. "WebFOCUS will not only help us manage costs through its strategic platform, but it also represents a very good model from an ROI perspective.”

With WebFOCUS, Nationwide will be able to provide timely information to its business users from disparate data sources including Oracle, SQLServer, and its data warehouse. WebFOCUS will provide Nationwide one operational reporting tool to leverage across the organization and the ability to scale to 1,000 business users, operations managers, and wholesalers. In the future, WebFOCUS will also be customer-facing, making it easier for Nationwide to be more responsive to its customers' needs.

"Nationwide recognizes the important investment they have made in WebFOCUS by setting ROI metrics from the start,” said Gerald Cohen, CEO and founder of Information Builders. "A centralized infrastructure combined with customized report features will ensure information is delivered in a meaningful manner, increase speed to market, and provide a cost-efficient operational reporting model.”
