My data warehouse vendor (who wants to sell me his product) says he can put in a data warehouse in 90 days. Should I believe him? What can I do to assure myself that he can fulfill his promise?
Sid Adelman's answer: Of course they showed you a great demo. Remember, a demo is not real life. It's a demo. Ask the vendor (ask him to put it in writing) exactly what you will get at the end of those 90 days. Press him on anything on which he is vague.
